General Church Info:

Mrs. Nikki Stepping Down:

This past Sunday morning, we announced that Mrs. Nikki has decided to step down from her position as Children's Minister. This is truly bittersweet for her. Here's what she had to say about this decision: 

“After much prayer and many tears, I felt God calling me to step down and take time to focus on my own family. Letting go of this position has truly broken my heart, but I am looking forward to a season of rest and trusting God as I wait to see how He will call me to serve next.”

But I wanted to make sure you were aware; our Children’s Ministry won’t skip a beat. Nikki will be helping to train our interim Children’s Minister, Stephanie Holmes. Stephanie has previous experience as a Children’s Minister and is currently an elementary school teacher. Nikki and Stephanie will work together to continue all of the great things our kids do, week in and week out. 

We have formed a Personnel Committee that is currently searching for the next person to fill this extremely important position. Be in prayer for Nikki, Stephanie, our kids, and our Personnel Committee as all of these transitions take place over the next few months. 

New Member Class:

With 24 in attendance, we just finished up our New Member Class, and it was a fantastic way to get to know so many of the new people who’ve joined our church family!

Parent Child Dedication:  

Join us for a special day at Village Church, as we celebrate your decision to raise your young children to know the Lord and we, as a church, pledge to join you in that commitment. Registration is open on the events tab of our website.  

Deadline to register is Wednesday, September 23rd.

Monthly Fellowship Meal: 

Sign up is open for our September meal. Head on over to the homepage of our website and get your family registered to eat! 

Epic Game Night:

Mark your calendar for a night of fun for the WHOLE family! Sunday, September 27th at 5PM we’ll be hosting, “Epic Game Night”. This evening will be a crazy game-show atmosphere that will have sections that include everyone present, who wants to participate. This is the perfect outreach event to invite your unchurched friends and family to. 

Night of Worship:

Another date to mark on your calendar is Sunday, October 11that 6:45 PM. Village Church is hosting a Night of Worship. This special event was dreamed up and will be hosted by our Young Adult Ministry, The Bridge. This event is open to the community and promises to be a special night, focused on the cross.

Men’s Ministry:

FORGED: Men’s Conference, with special guest Rick Burgess. July 24, 2027, Cost - $45
Most men avoid the mirror. Not the one hanging on the wall; the one that reveals the condition of the heart. This year at FORGED, we're inviting men to do something uncommon: take an honest look inward so God can move them forward. There will be limited seats at this conference, due to the size of our sanctuary. Reserve your spot TODAY! 

Women’s Ministry:

Save the date for our annual Women’s Conference, “Feast”! This year’s conference will be November 7, from 10 AM – 3 PM. Feast is a one-day biblical literacy conference for the women of Village Church and friends from the community. It will be a fun time of fellowship and a time to dig deep and delight in the riches of God’s Word.

We are not orphans, but daughters of the Most High King. He has set a table for us in His Word. All we have to do is feast! Our three main sessions will be led by Lee King from Opelika This year, we are extending Feast to include two opportunities to attend a breakout session. You will select one session for each breakout time during registration.

The Bridge: 

The Bridge is moving:

Our NextGen Pastor Jake made the announcement that our Young Adult Ministry, The Bridge, will be moving from The Hill to the church building, beginning THIS Thursday, September 10th. We’re excited for the growth in this ministry and the ability to grow even more

Renown Conference: 

Sign up for Renown Conference 2027 is available NOW! Visit our website for more information. Renown Conference is a powerful two-day gathering designed for young adults ages 18–28. The conference is on January 8th & 9th 2027 at Village Church'. This year's theme is Identity. Discover who you are in Christ and stop being defined by the world. 

The cost is $80, but it’s only $30 to get locked-in and reserve your spot for this amazing event. Renown is open to individuals as well as church groups.
